2020 Cadillac XT5 Redesign and Changes

2020 Cadillac XT5: Redesign, Changes, Release Date – Cadillac presented the XT5 in 2017 and was built upon the first SRX crossover SUV model. The Cadillac XT5 is a trustworthy two-row Cadillac SUV with a lot going for it, including a bold interior with a lot of standard features. If you’re looking for an affordable bliss midsize SUV with an upscale, well-developed interior and a comfy ride, the XT5 fits the bill. The XT5 has a lot of amazing things to provide someone looking for a deluxe daily driver. For right now, there are things you need to know about the 2020 Cadillac XT5.

What to Expect?

Undoubtedly, the Cadillac XT5 cheers up to the Cadillac reputation of giving a peaceful but fun ride. The car is competitively priced and with plenty of cool features that it has to offer, it is a more fair deal than other cars in its segment. Buyers looking for a comfortable car with a smooth ride and composed handling will be glad for the Cadillac XT5. Everyone is thrilled about the latest version of the XT5, so the question is, when can we get our hands on 2020 Cadillac XT5? What’s going to be different about the New Cadillac XT5?

2020 Cadillac XT5 Redesign

We all know that Cadillac’s lineup is going to be improved in the coming years, focusing on SUVs that will take design cues from the bold Escala concept. Cadillac is preparing to modernize XT5 for the 2020 model year, and many spy photographers has just caught a prototype of the car undergoing testing. The Cadillac XT5 is expected to get a mid-cycle refresh for the 2020 model year consisting of upgrades to the exterior and engine. You should know, a mid-cycle refresh can be referred to as a mid-cycle enhancement (MCE) in GM speak.

New XT5 Exterior Changes

The prototype is still at an early phase, but we can already tell the new XT5 will feature new front and rear fascias. Most likely a new grille will be more like the one on the Escala. We remain unclear whether the XT5 will get the same kind of front fascia and lighting as the new XT4 or if it will continue with the pre-facelift model. However, just like most next Cadillac’s, the XT5 will bound to don the Escala concept’s design cues. Most notably are a bigger grille and new bumpers. Particularly, the headlights on the prototype seem identical to the current version, but that could be the smart camo fooling us.

As for the back side of the vehicle, the prototype seems to be unchanged from the present model. But since it isn’t fully seeable, we might be missing some updates. But we don’t expect any major improvements back there. The side profile seems definitely the same as the latest, pre-facelift model. The only thing we’ve been able to see that might be valuable is the masking tape on the side mirror caps. While the camouflage hides half of the prototype’s body and most of its rear fascia, there don’t emerge to be any improvements show to the rear end. Definitely, every element seems to be in the same place as it is on the latest, 2019 XT5.

2020 Cadillac XT5 Engine & Gas Mileage

Given all the testing that’s going on, we really hope a major change under the hood. The 2020 XT5 is rumored to provide a 2.0-liter turbo inline-four engine with its 3.6-liter V6 and 310 horsepower. Admirers of lower mileage numbers should be merry to hear that a 2.0-liter turbo will become available, alongside the 310-horsepower 3.6-liter V6. The 2020 Cadillac XT5 will bring a 9-speed unit to start with the strong V6. V6 should be joined by an optional 2.0L turbo four that’s yielding 270 ponies in the brand’s smaller sedan.

It’s uncertain if the same hybrid system offered in China will also carry over; that configuration uses a 9-speed automatic to return 29 miles per gallon. Cadillac now offers the XT5 in China with a hybrid system, although we haven’t heard anything about the hybrid system being offered in the United States. Identical technology features on the Buick LaCrosse offered here, so it’s not beyond the realms of likelihood. We also expect the latest 8-speed automatic transmission to be changed by a new 9-speed automatic gearbox across all trims and in all markets.

2020 Cadillac XT5 Interior

When it comes to the interior, Cadillac should bring some more techs to the 2020 XT5. A safe bet is Cadillac improving the cluster of electronic driver aids, including providing Super Cruise partial self-driving system for the roadway. Presently, Super Cruise is reserved only for the CT6 sedan, but Cadillac has already fixed that it will make its way to the XT4. Therefore the same technology also makes sense for the 2020 XT5. The 2020 Cadillac XT5’s cabin will consist of bold, top-quality materials, including leatherette upholstery and wood accents. The seats will be well-cushioned and supportive. However, the front row has a high center armrest that blocks elbow room, but exterior visibility could be better. Additionally, two sets of LATCH seat connectors on the back outer seats and an upper tether on the middle seat should be available.

2020 Cadillac XT5 Release Date and Price

Expect the 2020 Cadillac XT5 to be presented before the end of the 2019 calendar year and show up in the summer-spring as a 2020 model year vehicle. Simply because the 2020 XT5 crossover isn’t as glamorous as the CT6 sedan, the actual price might be even lower there. Expect the entry-level to start from around $42,000 which is their current price, but fully-equipped should warrant a much higher price from now on. The facelift changes are small but valuable. For example, the automaker has given the LED headlights a more trendy presentation, while the bumper and grille are shaped to show sportier. It will be fully loaded with extraordinary touches and provides one of the most powerful engines in its segment. We will keep you updated as soon as possible about 2020 2020 Cadillac XT5.
