An all-new 2020 Seat Leon is rumored to be released soon to the market. After months of seeing the car’s spied shots, we should expect the next-generation Leon to be at least unveiled to the market before its official production. So, what can we expect from this upcoming car?
Previously, we can only see the spied shots of its exterior. But, recently we can take a look inside the cabin in the end. It’s spied at the Nurburgring with a redesigned interior. What makes it interesting is there’s almost no camouflage on the interior!
As a result, we can see that the upcoming Seat Leon will feature a fully new design with a little gear lever among several physical buttons. Moreover, the infotainment display seems to be unfinished, considering the buttons and design layout. Then, what else’s to expect?
2020 Seat Leon Updates and Upgrades
Regarding the instrument cluster of the prototype, we can expect it to be all-digital. It’s not surprising considering that the Volkswagen Group has owned this technology for years. Then, we expect the new Seat Leon to get new graphics as well as upgraded software.
In general, this hatchback seems to own a more traditional cabin design than the next-generation Volkswagen Golf. Aside from the uncovered interior, it’s just a common trial car. There’s a lot of disguise coating the entire body. But, we can still see the overall shape to guess what’s behind it.
For instance, the 2020 Seat Leon seems to wear its production headlights and taillights. The MQB-based model will probably share similar things with its sibling, the Skoda Octavia, Volkswagen Golf, and Audi A4. But, the feature and overall look are going to be distinctive.
Then, how about the powertrain? Perhaps, the essential update is adding a plug-in hybrid engine for both the wagon and hatchback versions. Moreover, Cupra will make the system provide more than the expected 242 horsepower. It would be enough to make the car run 0-60mph in less than 7 seconds.
2020 Seat Leon Release Date and Prices
Now, when will this Seat Leon hit the market? Some sources expected it to be introduced during the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show. But, it may be available on sale next year as a 2020 model. For the pricing, this car is supposed to be slightly cheaper than the Volkswagen Golf GTI.
This means that the 2020 Leon will be sold for around $37,000. We should still keep an eye on the newest update of the car, especially during the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show. If you’re interested in leasing the car, wait for its exact release in the United States.
